THE GOLD RING is a professional instrumental duo act specialising in live traditional Irish and Celtic music for weddings, corporate events and other private and public functions.
We specialise in performing traditional Irish and
Celtic instrumental music to a high musical standard.
We are also
available for concerts, recitals, folk festivals and clubs. Our main
repertoire contains a large number of Irish tunes, but also many Welsh
and Scottish and other pieces, the proportions of which can be adjusted
to suit our clients' wishes. We are available for bookings throughout
the UK.
THE GOLD RING DUO consists of Chris Knowles -Fiddle, Irish bouzouki (OR Celtic harp) and Ben
Walker (flute, uilleann pipes, whistle, low D whistle).
The duo are available to play a wide range of tunes, from beautiful atmospheric airs to wild jigs
& reels.
In a change to our instrumentation in the past, Chris now normally plays fiddle and Irish bouzouki in the duo.
(The Celtic harp is still sometimes available as an alternative option, but not in addition to the fiddle & bouzouki).
Ben plays uilleann pipes, flute, and whistle.
Weddings
We can play music for your wedding ceremony, reception, or both.
The various duo instrument
combinations are a great choice for lively jigs and reels during the reception drinks.
The music varies from beautiful magical evocative airs, to lively jigs and fast exciting reels.
